Constructivist Learning Theory, Teaching, and Learning MD5AssgnAngeloM

Constructivist Learning Theory, Teaching, and Learning Constructivist and constructionist learning theories are slightly different. Constructionism is there no meaning unless we construct it, whereas constructionism feel there is meaning because they interact with each other   (Orey, 2010) There is a relationship between constructivist/constructionist learning theories, instructional strategies, and technology tools. Constructivist learning theory is described as students needing to build on their prior knowledge before learning new skills ( Lοpukhοvа et al., 2020 ). Project-based learning is an instructional strategy that relates to constructivist learning theory. In project-based learning, students work together on real-life problems (Buck Institute for Education, n.d.). There are technology tools that go with constructivist learning.   A useful technology tool that supports constructivist learning theory and project-based learning is live video conferencing...

My Blog Adventure!

Hello Everyone! Goal: I will create a blog that is used to share classroom information and resources with my student’s families.  My name is MB Angelo and I currently work as a Special Education Teacher in one of the largest school systems in Maryland. I work at a Special Education Regional Center. This means I work with students who are severely physically and mentally disabled. I LOVE WHAT I DO! Let me tell you about my classroom. I teach students in 1st and 2nd grades. I have currently 6 students in my class. I am assisted by two wonderful paraeducators. And each and every lesson is fun in my classroom. I feel that this blog will be a good tool for education. My student’s families will have access to any information about what we are doing in the classroom and resources to follow up at home. The Why It is also important my blog is supported by different educational standards. International Society for Technology in Education Standards for Teachers is a list of standards tha...

Blog: Behaviorist Learning Theory, Instructional Strategies, and Technology Tools There is a cohesive relationship between behaviorism, instructional strategies, and technology tools. Clark (2018) describes behaviorist theory as learning as the acquisition of new behavior. Behaviorism has been used in education because a teacher can reinforce positive behaviors or learning (Orey, 2010). Instructional strategies are used to support student learning. Technology tools are technology being used to support student learning. Each thing is used to support student learning. Instructional strategies and technology tools work together to support student learning. In my classroom, I use many instructional strategies. I currently use positive reinforcement with my students. Positive reinforcement is a behaviorism strategy. It is very similar to operant conditioning (Bozkurt, 2016). The technology tools I use in my classroom is wikis and podcasts. I am able to use positive reinforceme...
